Jess Eva broke down in tears on live radio on Friday, after discovering she had allowed her children to swim in contaminated river water.

She insisted on Triple M’s Moonman in the Morning that the Parramatta River was safe to swim in, but experts at the Sydney Environmental and Soil Laboratory (SESL) say otherwise.

SESL announced on Friday that the Parramatta River has unsafe amounts of enterococci, a fecal bacteria that can cause cholera.

The former Block contestant, 35, said that locals had told her the river was safe to swim in, despite never seeing anybody else in the water.

‘We’ve got some news for you Jess. We’ve taken a sample of the Parramatta River, where you go swimming outside your house with your children,’ radio host Lawrence Mooney said.

‘We’ve got the results back from SESL treatment lab in Thornleigh. They did a complete environmental assessment and found abnormally high levels of enterococci.’
